Educational expansion for the Freedom: The Underground Railroad game.
Slavery is a sensitive topic in American history. This 72 page book includes a week of lesson plans, historical background knowledge, related readings, and student assessments all gathered in a single volume. Teachers are also shown how to manipulate the game in order to create intentional instructional situations.
In a classroom setting, students will take on the role of abolitionists helping slaves reach freedom in Canada. Background knowledge, primary source documents, and detailed lesson plans on teaching slavery and using the game provide educators with full support for instruction.
Includes customized Freedom mini-game scenarios designed by Brian Mayer and Christopher Harris to fit into class periods.
A great way to introduce games into the classroom or homeschool!
