
Maracaibo, the new strategy game for 1-4 players by Alexander Pfister, is set in the Caribbean during the 17th century. The players try to increase their influence in three nations in four rounds with a play time of 40 minutes per player.
The Caribbean in the 17th century: you are Seafarers and adventurers, trying to increase your reputation with various nations, establish strong alliances, and obtain wealth and fame. Only if you manage to successfully implement your plans, victory shall be yours! This can be achieved through different strategies, upgrading your ship to a mighty vessel, engaging in combat, working as a privateer, building a network of assistants, setting off on expeditions, fulfilling quests, and much more. Campaign
An optional campaign mode can be engaged that will unfold a sweeping narrative over the course of multiple game session that reacts to your choices.
Ship Upgrades
Upgrade and customize your ship to gain an advantage on the high seas. Your achievements will be rewarded with special abilties for your ship that allow you to explore multiple strategies.
How to Play
Setup
Each player receives a ship and selects a career. Each player then receives a hand of project cards that will inform their grand strategy as they set out on their grand adventure.
Turn Sequence
Players move their ship up to 7 spaces along the Caribbean and take an action wherever they dock. Will they explore the deep jungle or fight alongside the grand navies? The sea is open for exploration.
End of Game
After 4 decades at sea, players will compare their accomplishments to claim victory and the title of the greatest captain in the Caribbean.
Branching Campaign
Included is a player driven campaign that can be engaged by multiple players that reacts to their decisions and unfolds over the course of the multiple games. Introduce new characters and new locations on the map to see what adventures lie ahead!
